We sometimes think that once we know what we want, then we can change.
But change means you must disrupt a pattern of ingrained behaviour. And regardless how much you want the change to happen, it can take a few attempts to get going.
We don’t really take this into account when we first try to change.
We may think that change is a non-stop journey, and once we fall off the wagon we can’t get back on.
Or we may expect to fall off the wagon, but the more we do the less we feel we could get back on.
But the reality is we will all fail when we try to change. So the key is to not beat yourself up when you do, because there’ll be more attempts on the horizon.
Fall seven times, stand up eight.
