Your time management is only as good as the system you maintain. The tool I’ve found easiest to maintain is a digital calendar, as it’s amazing how quickly it can synch to all your engagements and stay on top of life.
However, when Bec and I became a couple, our time management tools stayed separate for quite some time, despite how much our lives overlapped.
As soon as we shared our digital calendars, our whole world opened up. We couldn’t believe how much we benefited from this transparency. It didn’t just help with awareness of engagements, it enriched our conversations because we spent less time asking the other person about their agenda.
As stated at the start, a digital calendar will only work for you if it’s maintained, and for some people this isn’t an effective solution. But if you haven’t tried maintaining a digital calendar, I encourage giving it a go. And if you’re in a relationship, I definitely encourage you develop a system together that works for you both.
