Whenever we are carrying a problem that’s weighing heavily on us, we may respond by finding issues with other things. This can be a positive signal or a negative signal, depending on how everyone is brought on the journey.
When the primary issue is recognised by both yourself and the people around you, all the other issues become an important signal about how you’re really feeling.
When the primary issue isn’t recognised by yourself and others, it can lead to a negative feedback loop as others try to resolve each issue that you raise but your disposition doesn’t improve.
When you find yourself raising lots of issues, it’s helpful to ask yourself if there’s something on your mind. Doing so will put the other issues into context and help you to reflect on what’s really going on inside. (The same goes for when someone else keeps raising lots of issues around you).
