When you want to make a change in your life, it’s important to bridge the gap between intent and action.
An exercise that really helps with this is considering what happens if you carry on with your life and things don’t change.
I use this technique a lot during coaching as it really makes people question why we’re talking. If we were to suddenly stop having conversations, what would their life go on to look like?
Once that is considered, we can then shift the focus to how life will change because of the ongoing conversations. I can then keep referencing these key reasons during our sessions so action can be taken.
