Hungry for McDonald’s

Success in life can be achieved with originality or replication. Just look at McDonald’s and Hungry Jacks (the name for Burger King in Australia).

McDonald’s seems to play a more absolute game, while Hungry Jacks seems to play a relative game to McDonald’s.

McDonald’s is famous for their Big Mac, so Hungry Jacks introduced the Big Jack.

McDonald’s found great success with Monopoly, so Hungry Jacks launched Uno.

Even their slogans represent these strategies. McDonald’s has “I’m lovin’ it”, while at Hungry Jacks “the burgers are better”.

Consider what you want to achieve in life. Should you carve your own path? Or follow someone else’s?
