The more stress we are under, the more direct our communication becomes.
We drop the niceties we normally use that foster connection with others.
This then causes our requests to take the form of demands.
And while a demand may get an intended result in isolation, the more they are used the more disconnected people will feel with you.
So when you are feeling stressed and short on time to get things done, try to remember there’s always time for pleasantries with those whose help you need.
