We can treat our schedule as having endless capacity, such that we keep saying ‘yes’ without considering all the other things we’ve already said ‘yes’ to.
Yet our capacity isn’t endless, which means that each new ‘yes’ means turning another ‘yes’ into a ‘no’ later.
And the problem with this approach is we won’t always know which ‘yes’ could become a ‘no’ until we’re forced to decide.
So before jumping to ‘yes’, it helps to reflect on which other ‘yes’ you’ll be happy to change to a ‘no’.
