Yesterday’s Opinion Dominion asked:
Is AI killing the cover letter?
53% said Yes
47% said No
I went with No.
AI is changing how cover letters are written.
But I’d argue that it’s HOW people use AI that’s doing the damage.
When a cover letter sounds generic or robotic, it doesn’t help your application.
To me, a good cover letter is critical for your job prospects.
It’s the bridge between your resume and an interview.
It gives the person context for understanding who you are and what you’re about.
And if how you come across is basic AI output, then you’re not building a very good bridge.
