Should internal promotions be PRIORITISED over external hires?

30% said No
I went with the majority on this one.
Promoting from within sends a signal to employees that there’s a path forward.
It helps to build loyalty and create momentum.
And it also sends a message that you’re not stuck in your role.
External hires definitely bring value, and a bit of competition is healthy.
But I personally think prioritising internal promotions is the norm with most companies.
Is this a fair claim?
