It is not helpful. In fact, it is probably the worst possible way to use your energy.
Beating yourself up because you haven’t met arbitrary expectations you’ve set of yourself is such a waste.
And yet strangely, on some level you may feel it is useful.
It’s not. There are so many other ways to better respond to a setback.
If you do typically beat yourself up when things don’t go to plan, just think how much energy and time you are wasting, and what has ultimately come from it?
