When you “judge”, it means you are viewing your relationships vertically.
You judge-down when you say things like “I wouldn’t do that” or “I can’t believe you did that”.
You can also judge-up when you say things like “I couldn’t do that” or “of course they did well”.
Judging up or down is usually not a helpful exercise, as you may limit your growth when you perceive relationships vertically.
It can be more helpful to perceive your relationships horizontally. Everyone is running their own race. Everyone has their own perspective. Everyone has a different experience.
Try to open your world to those around you, rather than limiting your world to being above or below others.
