They say you should never meet your heroes. That may be because the real-life version is different to what you idolise.
If that’s the case, the expression should really be “you should never meet your idols”.
Because when you’re asked “who is your hero?”, are you more likely to name a celebrity, or is your hero a family member, partner, close friend or colleague?
If it’s the latter, then that also means we are all heroes in someone’s eyes.
