Pokemon Go was a massive hit when it launched in 2016, and while it experienced a little trough in popularity, it made record revenue last year of $1 billion and has had over 600 million unique downloads to date.
While these stats are amazing, the most incredible one that stayed with me is this:
If the Pokémon in the game were instead observations of real species, Pokemon Go would have produced more wildlife observations in 6 days than have been collated over the past 400 years by naturalists.
How incredible is that?!
Relating this back to personal development, you can achieve great success when you turn things into a game. People have a natural desire to compete, collect and achieve, so creating incentives in your development that are linked to games can be hugely powerful.
