When you play a video game, the saved file will display the total hours that’s been played. For many players, this number is a form of accomplishment – you feel a sense of satisfaction that you’ve cracked 100 hours in a game (a very big deal is playing 1,000 hours in a game).
But have you noticed that Netflix doesn’t load with the number of hours you’ve watched? And Instagram doesn’t greet its users with the hours spent scrolling. If they did, would you equate the number to achievement?
