Is this your morning routine?
You are enjoying the most beautiful sleep. Then SUDDENLY YOUR ALARM GOES OFF. It is pitch black. You are groggy and confused, and you’re fumbling in the dark to find your alarm that just won’t stop. You then pull yourself out of bed and try to find the light switch in the dark. You shield your eyes because the supernova on your ceiling is burning. You feel like you’ve been hit by a train, and it takes you quite a while to feel ready to go.
This was my routine for many years. You never feel great being jolted from sleep by an alarm when everything’s dark. But one addition to my room has made such a difference.
Get a wake-up light alarm clock. They are incredible. The light will turn on dimly and then gradually become brighter over about 20 minutes. The light spectrum is tailored to mimic the sun, so it really feels like waking up to a sunrise.
Ever since getting a wake-up light alarm clock, I’ve never felt groggy. Best way to start the day!
