Many of the coaching conversations at QLA involve people wanting to start their own business.
They come with a desire of what they want to do and have already determined that their own business is the way to get it.
I like to explore this core assumption before the conversation goes any further.
People see “business” as a catch-all term for going out on their own.
But a business is just one means of applying yourself, and it has a particular range of upsides and downsides.
There are many different vehicles available to you to achieve your goals, and they each have different payoffs.
So if you are holding onto a desire to start your own business, I really encourage you to understand what this means to you.
Before taking any action, allow yourself to consider what you really want to achieve, and then consider what types of vehicles could make this happen.
