Biased realities

We each have a unique view of the world, and this is heightened by your profession or occupation.

This unique view is valuable because you are more aware of your field than the average person, but this shouldn’t bias your decision-making when it comes to risk.

Lawyers are hyper-aware of law suits, but this shouldn’t discourage them from starting a business. It should make them more confident about the protections that are available.

Panel beaters are hyper-aware of car crashes, but this shouldn’t discourage them from driving. It should make them more considerate drivers.

Physios are hyper-aware of injuries, but this shouldn’t discourage them from exercising. It should make them better prepared to care for their bodies under stress.

What are your unique insights? Can you use them to create more value? Or is your over-exposure to the downside preventing you from taking action?
