Trust is forming an expectation that someone will act in a certain way in a certain situation. We tend to think about trust more when we’re in a situation where it may be tested, and less about how we are developing it.
This focus should be the other way around.
We should be thinking about the trust we want to build with someone overtime, such that when we’re in a situation where it is tested, we are confident in the expectations that have formed.
We are building trust with people every day, whether we realise it or not. Every day you are having a conversation with your partner, or performing a task for someone, or making a request of another, and this is having an impact.
Every day you are affecting someone else on a subconscious level.
So what trust are you building? Are you creating an expectation that you will perform in a positive way, or a negative way?
What impressions are you creating in the world around you?
