Isn’t it amazing that everyone hears the same weather forecast but interprets it differently?
Let’s say you’re told there’s a 70% chance of rain today.
What does this mean to you?
Does it mean across the day it will rain 70% of the time?
Or is 70% of an area going to receive rain?
Or does it mean that the meteorologist is right 7 days out of every 10?
The scientific definition isn’t given with the forecast. We aren’t taught in school how to interpret a forecast. We don’t go searching for the meaning.
And yet every day, we hear this information and take action in our own way.
While the cost of action or inaction is fairly low, it’s a good example of how each of us have confidence in our own interpretation.
Are there other areas of your life where you could benefit from a different perspective?
