Isn’t it fascinating how dramatically our state can shift as soon as we become aware of a problem?
One minute we’re oblivious and our world is fine.
The next minute a problem appears and we feel compelled to act.
It shifted from an unknown to being the most important thing in life.
This phenomenon strikes me more than I’d like to admit, and whenever it does I force myself to consider what level of urgency is warranted.
In the vast majority of cases, the problem does not need to be fixed right away.
So I then find it helpful to reason with myself – if action isn’t required, rather than feeling uneasy, shouldn’t my world go back to the way it was in the minute before the compulsion struck?
