The unfortunate irony with many organisations is that they will give you certain training once you reach a certain position.
For example, leadership training is provided when you become a manager, but not before.
So with this example, you will have an advantage if you pursue your own leadership training before becoming a manager:
- You will likely do better in your current role.
- You will present as a better candidate to be chosen as a manager.
- You will hit the ground running when you become a manager.
- And any training that is then offered to you because you’re a manager will build on the training you’ve already had.
