We may like to think that we’re spontaneous when it comes to our experiences, but how much of what you eat is on repeat?
Take a moment to consider what you eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
For me, breakfasts and lunches are pretty much the same each day. And while my dinners are more variable, there are a few main dishes that would be on rotation.
Most of what we eat is a default behaviour. You may think this is a little boring and wish you had more variety, but this repetition can be a good thing.
If you want to make changes to your health through your diet, you may want to eat super-healthy, which means thinking of 21 super-healthy new dishes each week for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
But the reality is you’re currently not eating 21 different dishes each week, so this would actually be a big challenge and it wouldn’t be sustainable.
The best thing you can do is focus on changing the main foods you default to.
An easy way to get great results is focusing on one mealtime (breakfast in particular is quite repetitive, so start there for quick wins). What can be your new default for this mealtime that aligns with the lifestyle you want to live?
