When we were in school it was common to have sessions of quiet reading on our own.
Some teachers expected you to read a book.
Others wouldn’t mind what you brought to read, as long as you were reading.
The sessions with greater freedom of choice were far more engaging for everyone. Some people would rather read a magazine than a book. They would be interested in a special subject and would love to read articles with great images. But when their reading was constrained to just words, their interest was difficult to hold.
Looking back, I admire the teachers that grouped magazines and books together as literature.
When you have a passion, it’s more important that it is sustained, rather than how it is sustained.
Make sure your passion is captured and explored in whatever medium works best for you.
