The RYLA leadership programs we run embrace the philosophy, “Go fast alone, go far together”.
It’s recognising that while it may seem easier and quicker to do things by yourself, more could be possible if you go beyond yourself.
Take a moment to consider the professional goals and ambitions you have.
To what extent are these goals framed as solo pursuits? How many have you determined as self-driven? Are you the only person responsible for keeping you accountable?
Now consider what it would mean for your professional goals to have an external element.
Can you tie your goals to the benefit of others? How can you be inspired to go further? Who can you draw on to be responsbile for your accountability?
Just because you have your own goals, it doesn’t mean you have to achieve them alone.
