Everyone can appreciate that failing comes with success.
If you want to grow or get better results, you need to take risks. Sometimes they pay off, and sometimes they don’t.
But if you don’t fail, then nothing changes.
You get this. You know that failing is important.
But I want you to take a moment and consider how your workplace treats failure.
Are you encouraged to keep trying new things, even if they don’t work?
Are you only rewarded by achieving good results?
Are you discouraged from taking risks and failures aren’t acceptable?
Or are you punished for failures and fear when things don’t go to plan?
Imagine if your team celebrated a Failure of the Month? Or if losing a tender was treated as a learning exercise because it helps clarify your offer? Or if your bonus pool was based on how you performed and not exclusively based on the money you made?
So if you believe that failure is important to succeed, how can you foster a culture where failure is seen as a good thing? Because if you can, surely this will lead to more success at your workplace?
