I recently provided guidance to a friend who received a takeover proposition for their business.
It was something they had not actively considered and they wanted to gain clarity about the best path to take.
On the one hand, they were very open to exploring a deal and this opportunity was certainly interesting.
On the other hand, they were excited by the prospects of their business and furthering the impact they were making.
Through discussions with the potential suitor, it was determined that now wasn’t the right time to pursue a deal and the door was kept open for future discussions.
So even though there was no tangible change from the approach, it solidified the owner’s conviction with their strategy and they came away more invigorated to keep rocking it.
