The quality of non-alcoholic drinks has increased a lot in recent years.
Alcohol companies are investing heavily in providing a full range of options to consumers, and there’s lots of micro and boutique breweries popping up with great selections. So much so that there are some bottle shops that exclusively stock non-alcoholic drinks.
I personally can’t tell much difference between the taste of a Heineken and a Heineken 0.0. And you can’t tell the difference at all when they’re poured into a glass (which is very useful in social settings where there may be pressure to explain what you’re drinking).
There are loads of great non-alcoholic options across spirits, white wines and sparkling wines (though unfortunately non-alcoholic red wines have a long way to go to not taste like grape juice…)
So if you’re looking to reduce your alcohol intake but would still like to enjoy a drink, give the non-alcoholic ranges a try next time. You may be pleasantly surprised.
