Overcoming small hurdles

We are attracted to stories of people overcoming incredible hurdles to get what they want. 

And yet how big are the hurdles that stop you? 

A little cold stops us going to the gym.

A little rain stops us from going out. 

A little inconvenience stops us finding that email we should respond to. 

It’s not the big hurdles that stop us. It’s the little ones that trip us up. 

The easiest way to keep going over these small hurdles is to recognise how small they really are. Because once you accept you’ve stopped for a minor inconvenience, you’ll feel compelled to act. 

So the next time you find yourself not taking action, simply ask yourself: How big is the hurdle in my way?
