Phone calls have such an immediacy that we feel that missed calls will be responded to easily.
We’re then prone to leaving messages that are vague like “I’ll try you again later” or “please call me back when you get this message” (that is, if we leave a message at all).
But then how often when you miss a call from someone, do you then miss them when you call them back?
I’ve found the easiest way to prevent a game of phone tag is to state my availability with an expectation of when I can follow-up.
I appreciate this may sound like a simple blog post with a common sense approach. But I’ve found it helps a lot.
