Planting the acorn

This is one of my favourite analogies.

Achieving meaningful things in life requires a meaningful commitment. When given enough time, anything you commit to will become meaningful (from both a good and bad perspective). So it helps a lot if you take the time first to determine what initiative you want to commit to.

This is just like the humble acorn which grows into a mighty oak tree. It really helps to first work out where to plant the acorn. Yes, you can move the acorn after you plant it, but the process becomes harder with the passage of time.

It’s ok to take your time and work out where you want to plant your acorn.
