Present an action

Whenever you present to an audience, give them a direct call-to-action.

For many of our presentations, we just share some information but leave it up to the audience to consider what they should do with it.

I suspect this tendency was developed during school where our presentations were motivated by marks and not a cause. Our classmates weren’t relevant to the mark we’d get, so we didn’t need to consider them.

Now when you present on something action-worthy, don’t leave your audience guessing about what they could do.

Your audience needs clear and simple instructions to take effective action, and it’s best to activate them in the moment when their attention on your cause is highest.
