With QLA, when someone says they want to make a change in their life, we spend a lot of time on whether they will commit to the change before we consider next steps.
The reason is simple – how many times have you said you will do something and not followed through?
You know yourself better than anyone. So when you want to make a change, first be honest with yourself and answer these questions:
- What are all the ways you need to protect yourself from you?
- How will you set yourself up for success?
- What systems do you need in place to keep you in check?
- Whose help do you need to make this happen?
If you can answer these questions with confidence, you’ll be in a much stronger position to sustain the change you desire. If you don’t have confidence in your answers, that’s perfectly ok too. It just means you should spend the time to understand if you really want to change, and whether you’re comfortable getting out of your own way to make it happen.
