How much of your planning is re-planning?
I don’t mean refining your plan because of new information.
Or redoing your plan because something isn’t working.
Or scrapping your plan entirely and trying something different.
I mean re-planning the same plan again and again.
Either because you aren’t documenting it properly.
Or because you’re ignoring your existing notes.
Or maybe because it’s easier to plan than to action. When you plan the same plan again, you feel like you’ve achieved something, but you really haven’t.
The beauty of planning is that it frees you up to make things happen. So the more time you spend re-planning, the more time and effort you’re wasting.
