I’ve written before about the importance of recognising great customer service by sharing your experience with someone of a higher authority.
I did this when hiring the venue for our recent leadership workshop. The event was streamed across Australia and New Zealand, so it was important for our Sydney venue to be set up smoothly.
The floor attendant went above-and-beyond to help us with our preparations, and I made this known when I thanked the manager for the use of their venue. It was fantastic to see the manager CC the attendant with his reply:
…Indeed, [the attendant] is an asset for our organisation and I am very pleased he assisted you on the day…
The power of a compliment increases when it is shared, so when you receive a compliment about someone on your team, be sure to reinforce your appreciation.
