Reminding yourself

Sometimes when we set a reminder, we assume that our future self will have the same awareness of the situation as our present self.

We then make the mistake of writing the reminder with a vague description, like “Call Matt”.

We are then reminded to “Call Matt”, but don’t know what it’s for.

Whenever you set a reminder, be as detailed as possible. Write it as if you will forget about it, because there’s a good chance you will. It doesn’t take much, and your future self will thank you.
