When you walk into a restaurant, the waiter sits you down, hands you a menu and asks you to select a dish.
They don’t sit you down without a menu, tell you that the chef can make you anything and ask “What would you like?”
It’s easier to make a decision when our choices are limited.
We like the thought of having autonomy over our lives.
It’s nice thinking that anything is possible and we get to decide what to do.
Unfortunately, this freedom can feel overwhelming, and rather than inspire action we hold off when our options aren’t clear.
Limiting your choices is a good thing. So out of everything you could do, what specific options can you define and then choose between?
