Written messages are effective at listing your points, but once the message is sent those points are fixed.
A follow-up call allows for points to be shaped in real-time. You may realise that the points you’ve raised are not relevant, or that they need to be framed better for the other person.
If you limit your communication to written messages, you’re assuming that what’s written contains everything the other person needs to take a desired action.
