When you’re trying to make a change in your life, it’s helpful to distinguish between strategy and execution.
Strategy is deciding what to do and how to do it.
Execution is implementing the strategy and determining if an action should continue or change.
Many of the problems we encounter come from confusing these two. We think we have the answer so we jump into action quickly but then wonder why the actions aren’t working. Or we spend a lot of time planning but then wonder why things aren’t changing.
So if you’re not getting the results you’d like, pause and ask yourself these questions:
Does the issue lie in the strategy I’ve chosen?
Or does the issue lie in the action I’m taking?
