Do you ever need to type a long string of text on your mobile, like your email address? And every time it feels like ages to type it in, and you usually make a mistake and have to retype it?
Well here’s something that you’ll love.
There is a function on your mobile called “text replacement”. It allows you to substitute a long string of text for a small string of text.
So let’s say you need to type out hello@quarterlifeacademy.com in a message.
With text replacement, you can nominate any string you like as a shortcut – let’s go with hello@. Then wherever you type this shortcut on your phone, it will invite you to add the full email in its place.
If you’d like to use this feature on your phone, google “text replacement” or “text shortcuts” to determine your phone’s functionality.
If you’re an iphone user, tap Settings > General > Keyboard > Text Replacement.
If you’re an android user, tap Settings > Languages & input > Personal Dictionary.
