- Words of Affirmation
- Acts of Service
- Receiving Gifts
- Quality Time
- Physical Touch
Sometimes when we feel disconnected from someone it’s because we are expressing affection in a different way to their preference (and vice versa).
For instance, a partner may clean the kitchen as an Act of Service, but it may go unnoticed if their SO is wondering why it’s been so long since they’ve spent Quality Time together.
And this doesn’t just apply to your SO.
Have a think about which Love Language resonates with you most. And then think about the important people in your life. How do they express affection?
Simply letting others know about your preferences and asking about theirs will go a long way with your connections.
