If you’ve been struggling to make a decision for a while, carve out a small window of time and challenge yourself to come to a decision by the end of it.
If you only had 15 minutes to decide what to do, could you land on a decision?
When we have big decisions that aren’t time-sensitive, we can allow ourselves to get caught up in processing and think that we’re making progress.
But really we have gathered all the information we need for a decision and we’re putting off making it.
So set yourself a window of time to focus exclusively on the decision and see what happens.
This exercise works just as well for a shared decision as a solo decision.
