On the podcast How Other Dads Dad, Hamish Blake asks his guests to share the 3 Cornerstones of their fathering philosophy.
Bec asked what mine were on our recent road trip, and I said:
- Be the example you’d like them to follow (I actually said “Monkey See, Monkey Do”, but this version sounds more refined)
- If I can’t give Amelie a hug when she wants to see me, even when I’m on a career coaching call, then what’s the point?
- What are the basic principles I can instil in them that will go a long way? (like saying Please and Thank You).
If you’re a parent reading this, I’d love to hear your 3 cornerstones too!
